Oreo Balls- Free Write

My family does not really have any traditions when it comes to food but my mom and sister try to make Oreo balls around Christmas. The kitchen does not have enough room for all of the family to sit and help roll the balls plus I do not like to cook in the slightest so I don't not help them. I don't have any good stories to tell about any of the foods we make because I am not involved in cooking at all. I stay out of the way of my dad and sister when they cook because our kitchen is basically a hallway with appliances and cabinets in it. I do know how they make the Oreo balls because it is pretty simple. You start by blending up a pack of double stuffed Oreo till they are just powder. Then you add in cream cheese and blend till all the cream cheese is mixed evenly. Next you take a cookie sheet and line it with none-stick paper and start rolling the batter into roughly ping-pong sized balls. After that you put the cookie sheets into the freezer for a day or two so they can harden. After the time in the freezer then you take them and dip them into melted white almond bark, which makes the whole house smell amazing for a couple of days, and put them back on the cookie sheet then into the freezer again for another day or two. Once the chocolate has hardened you take them of the cookie sheet and store them in a container with a lid and store them in the fridge.

Perspective Story- Free Write

It was an ordinary day and I was sleeping in the Washington monument when I suddenly woke up. There was someone poking at my button so I scanned the area and found my brief case. It was down the street from me but it was closed so I wasn't sure how someone tapped the button. Then the case jumped up which I thought was rather strange so I did an x-ray scan and found that there was a pigeon locked inside pushing buttons. As I was scanning the pigeon was hopping the case around the street and shooting a laser gun at cars and people. Then the case started to fly up and chase cars still shooting. There was a man in a black suit that was trying to stop the pigeon so he ran out into the street with what looked like a bagel and he held it over a burning car. The case stopped shooting and looked at the man. When the man threatened to drop the bagel in the fire the pigeon landed the case and opened the lid. The man tried to approach the case up the pigeon jumped back in and pointed the laser at the man.The man acted like he was going to put the bagel down but then he through it up into the air and the pigeon was distracted for long enough for the man to knock it out of the case. As then man hit the pigeon the bagel came down on my button. Then next thing I knew was the monument was moving down and I was launched into the air heading for Moscow Russia. As I was flying I could sense that the man was flying behind me and was fighting the pigeon. The next thing I remember was and explosion and I was falling instead of flying and I saw the pigeon on the ground and I fell right on top of it.

Sky- Free Write

I have always loved the night. I would rather be up at night doing things because it is more peaceful. When you are driving at night you almost have the road to yourself if you are out late enough. The night air is cooler in the summer and is perfect for having the windows down. I would like to go somewhere that has less light pollution so I could go night driving and be able to see the moon and the stars above me.

I Will Never Do That Again

I will never take my vehicle to Midas or Eagle Pride to be worked on. The vehicle I had worked on at those places kept having problems in the areas they worked on like the ball joints had to be replaced two years in a row at inspection time. the fist inspection I took it to Midas and they replaced the parts for $500+ then a year later I had the same problem again so I took it to pep-boys and they fixed it better and i didn't have the problem again. Eagle pride was supposed to fix the problems i had with the brakes and they did for but after a couple of weeks there was a different problem so i took it to a different shop and they said that there was a couple of bolts missing from the caliper on my brakes so i am never going back to those shops for work on my new truck. I will never let the dealership do the state inspection on a used vehicle again. when i bought my new truck the dealership said it might need a new inspection because the old one was out of date.

 "She is Blonde"

Her hair shines and flows down her back like a golden waterfall in the warm summer sun.

The Toddler was Angry

All you could hear was screaming and yelling through the store it and you could tell that someone was not in a good mood. As they the sound comes around the corner you can see a little kid in a car cart and their face is red and there are tears running down their face.

I was Unhappy

My parents told me I was going to have to start taking my sister to school with me my senior year and they told me that I wasn't supposed to listen to my music loudly with her in the car because she didn't like the music I listened to. Why should I have to stop listening to my music the way I want to in my car just because my sister doesn't like it.

Place I Would Rather Be- Free Write

I would rather be on the beach in the Caribbean. I want to sit on the beach under an umbrella and feel the warm sun and sand on my skin. I want to listen to the waves roll onto the beach and watch the boats and ships come into dock. I want to feel the salty breeze on my face. I want to recline next to the water and feel the tide come up over my legs and feel the cool wet sand between my toes. I want to smell all the seafood cooking and taste fried fish.

Hells and Heavens- Free Write

My hells are when i do not know how I am going to finish an assignment on time and with actually good work. another hell is when I have to go to work at the front of the store and deal with all the customers. i would prefer to work in the back counting money. another hell is when i am late for something or think i am gonna be late. My heavens are when i get to relax at home and play video games. another heaven is getting to work on my truck and buy new things to make it look more personalized for me. another heaven is when i get to buy things and upgrade my computer. i also like to spend time with my grandparents and surprise them with visit when i am not busy at work or class. i am not a very deep person so my things are not very grand or important.

Favorite Words Story

When I walked into the store I had a feeling something was wonky but I didn't say anything. The walls of the place where painted a buttery yellow. I asked the lady working the at the checkout counter if there was any way I could get an application for a job. She said that they where in the office and she would go and get them lickety-split. When she came back a couple minutes later she was just a schmidge out of breath and said that she was sorry for the wait and she had a hard time finding the application because the office was a quagmire. After I took the application from her hand my vision blurred then went black, when my vision cleared I was in an automotive shop that was full of cars and people. I wasn't sure what was going on because I was standing upright and I had no memory of leaving the store I was in to get to a shop. They shop was full of shouting voices. I could make out people under cars yelling bloody hell, balluoks, funk, or shite. As I walked around I saw a women talking to one of the mechanics, it was funny to listen to her description of the problem. "There is something wrong with this thingy I think this thingy also I don't know." There was another person that was trying to buy a part for their car and was describing it as a widget. Apparently he believed in fungo. When I got to the exit door and grabbed the handle my vision went black again and I was standing on a beach and I could feel the bubbles on my feet. I had no idea what was going on. Then some arse ran into me and I fell, as I fell my vision went black again and I woke up in my bed. It was just a dream that explained all the weird things that happened. Even though I was asleep I still felt nackered.

Extreme Revising

His lanky 6'5" body with lots of string like brown hair covered his head and holes through his ears. With his facial hair to hide behind he felt safe from people. Eyes the color of the sky on a clear day showed through his  that his nature might be reserved and withdrawn he longed to be open and outgoing but was afraid of what people would think of him. He did not like the place he worked the customers made him angry and irritated.

20 Traits

He was tall and skinny with long straight brunet hair. He was quiet and shy but behind his sad blue eyes was a longing to be happy and loud but he was to scared of what people would think of him. He wore gauges in his ears and had glasses with dark black frames. He had a mustache and a beard that covered his face. When he was at work he was grumpy and mad at all the customers but hide behind a smile. He was bored with all of the things he did.

Credo

I believe in being early. I am almost always early for classes, meetings, dates, etc. I always try to leave like haft an hour before the scheduled time but I almost always end up leaving earlier or getting to my destination way early. Even if I have made the trip before and arrived way early I still leave at the same time the next time I go. I feel that if I try messing with the times I leave something will happen and I will end up being late for something important.

Being early means that you care about what you are going to. Being early to meetings and/ or classes means that you want people to know that you are professional and take what you are doing seriously. When you are early to dates it shows that you care about the other person alot and also that you were eager to spend time with them.

When you are early you have time to do things without distraction that you wouldn't otherwise do like; read, work on something for later in the day or week or whenever, have time to yourself, watch TV on your phone etc.

What if...

  • there was no war
  • people could get along
  • teachers were paid more
  • sports were less important
  • education was cheaper
  • governments actually fixed things
  • there was no debt
  • china invaded
  • we used nukes again
  • politicians didn't line their pockets
  • we didn't need to sleep

What if teachers were paid more?

Teachers provide education to all the people around the world but at least in the US they are not paid very much. I believe that teachers should be paid more what pro athletes make instead of what they do now. I don't see why we need to pay pro athletes so much money for entertainment when the people that educate us are not getting nearly as much. I know schools are funded by paying taxes and all but I don't see why people are willing to spend so much money on watching a sports game but they don't want to spend money to pay teachers more what they deserve. I know athletes train hard and work hard for the money they make but so do teachers. Teachers have to put up with annoying kids or adults.

What if we had to use nukes again?

With all the countries that have nukes would there be anything left after a war like that. would enough people survive to rebuild the world or would we just stop existing? Would the radiation kill every thing immediately or would some things survive and mutate? I don't really think anyone would really use a nuke on someone else again not after what happened the first time. Plus the results would be a lot more devastating this time around because of the other countries that have nukes. How many of them would retaliate if someone fired a nuke at someone else just because they saw an opportunity. We should never have to use nukes again because we have other weapons to do the killing for us that don't irradiate an entire country.

What if we didn't need to sleep?

If we didn't need to sleep there would be so much more time to get things done. businesses could stay open all the time and make more money. People would have more time to work on things they wanted to if they were not at work or school. I suppose if we didn't need to sleep we wouldn't feel tired at all? Or maybe something else would replace sleeping.

Looping

 Fear

There are many things that people are afraid of, some people are afraid of spiders others are afraid of snakes and almost everyone has some fear of the dark. Even if adults don't like to admit it. Even if there is no reason to be afraid of a dark area some people still find it hard not to get scared when they have to walk through that area. There are plenty of other things to be scared of. Not all of them have to be things we can see. Some people have fears about heights others are afraid of germs. others are afraid of being left alone. I personal am afraid of heights taller than two stories or three stories. Unless it is on the sloped roof of a one story building then i get uneasy there too. I also have a strange fear of ladders. I don't like climbing on them to get anywhere, especially if they are unsteady and/ or flimsy.

Dark

Most children have some fear of the dark. It comes from thoughts of monsters under the bed or in the closest, or from some other experience in the dark. Adults think that kids should grow out of their fear by a certain age but sometimes, even if they don't want to admit it adults are still creep-ed out by dark spaces. Especially places that are not familiar to them. Those kids that adults think have grown out of there fear have probably just learned not to go running to mom or dad when they think they see something in the dark. and they probably have figured out that there room is not full of monsters at night, so they have no troubles with the dark in there rooms. there are some places that creep out adults somewhere in their subconscious, for example long pitch black hallways, or basements that are not finished, or maybe really long winding roads through woods. there is no reason to be ashamed of being afraid of the dark because chances are that someone else you know is afraid too.

Monsters

Children make monsters out of anything. when they are in there room at night they see creatures in the toys and clothes and furniture around them. They also think that there are monsters under there bed or in the closet. There is nothing wrong with a child being scared of "monsters" they see in there room, but they need to learn that there is no monster that will get them in the night. Otherwise they will not be able to function as an adult. I'm not sure what age most children grow out of their fear of the dark but I would think somewhere around  three of four maybe. I don't know why children make monsters out of things around them because I cant remember what I was like at two or three. Maybe the fear of monsters just comes from the fact that the kids are left alone to sleep and the are not used to that, but when they finally get used to being alone in the dark to sleep the monsters they created disappear for them.

New Computer

November of 2012 I got a job working at price cutter. I worked a lot the first few weeks because it was holiday session and I made alright money quick. The first thing I saved for was a computer that my friend had gotten a couple months before and I really liked it. It was a Dell 1500 and it the specs looked good for gaming to me. It had an i7 8 core processor, an nVidia 680 graphics card, a two terabyte hard drive, 10 USB slots and it cost about $1500 which I thought was pretty good. But when I went online to order mine the first week of January I could not get the exact same build that he had. The best graphics card they had when I looked was the nVidia 640. Which was still really good. I have used the computer for gaming almost every day since I bought it.

Getting A Car

Last Thursday my dad text me that he found a truck for sail at the Volkswagen dealership that looked nice and was relatively cheap. The truck was a black 2001 ford flair-side F150 and the dealer was wanting $6000 for it. Friday after class i went with my grandfather to take a look at the truck and see if we could talk them down some on price. After the test drive my grandpa thought it was a good truck and was worth trying to buy. So I made an offer of $5250 and the salesman took the offer to his manager. As we where sitting the the office waiting my grandpa said that he could get me a loan with no interest. I replied by asking how. He said he brought his check book with him. I was really happy that he would do that for me and when the salesman said they had excepted my offer I was really exited. After the long process of getting the paperwork filled out I went by the bank to get the money I owed my grandpa. Then I went over to my grandparents house to show my grandma the truck. On the way over to my grandparents I remembered that I should probably pick up my sister.

Jung Typology

My Jung Typology test results where pretty much what I suspected. My indicator is ISTJ and it means: Introversion, Sensing, Thinking, Judging. Most of the description is what I expected, but the description of the writing process I don't believe are correct for me. The test says that in the writing process, the ISTJ will often…
Use an efficient and well organized writing process
Reflect on past experiences and create a plan based on previously successful outlines
Need to consider the impact their writing has on their audience
Clarify the objective and obtain clear instructions and expectations
Write a first draft and then revise writing to omit unnecessary details and include generalizations
Incorporate headings, graphs, charts and tables in order to highlight key points

I don't think any of the things on that list are part of my writing style. I don't have a very good ability to reflect on past experiences, and don't use an efficient or well organized writing process. I don't think that this test will help me too much as a writer because I don't believe that any of the points.

Linkin Log

Link-in logs are and awesome kids toy that i never got to have a set off. I got to play with them at other peoples houses but my parents never got me a set for myself. Instead I grew up with Lego's and I got to build cool things other that log cabins and forts. I would take a set of Lego's and build the way the instructions said for and keep them for a little while then I would go back and canabalise the parts i needed off of them to make something I wanted. Then I would keep those around for a little while before starting again. My parents took me to Lego land in Kansas city when i was a kid and i don't remember if they bought me very many sets of Lego sets or not because they can be pretty expensive sometimes. There are sit sets of Lego's that I wanted that I never got. The Lego police station with all the vehicles was one of the top sets I wanted but I didn't ever get it there was also a fire station that I really would have liked to have but again i never got it. all my Lego's where stored in a n R2D2 cooler that my parents had. From where they got it I have no idea but it was cool. I had gotten so many that it over into a car cooler.

Introduction

Hello my name is Nathan Brown. I am not particulary interesting; I enjoy playing video games, reading, listening to music and working on vehicles. I am working on my degree in Automotive Technologies and I may get a degree in Computer Technologies.
